Case study: Talented

The software behind a recruiting firm that has vetted 30,000+ applicants

Talented finds and vets overseas hires for founders. Its founder built a suite of internal tools with AI to run it: applicant screening, sourcing data, campaign launches, and ad attribution. As volume grew, keeping them running turned into a second job.

We built the AI screening that grades its applicants, the funnel for its newest offer, and the two automation platforms its pipeline runs on.

  • AI candidate screening

Grades every written scenario response against a multi-step AI rubric and posts the results to Slack. Recruiters tune the rubric as their bar changes.

  • Applicant pipeline

Next-step emails and abandoned-application follow-ups that keep applicants moving without a recruiter touching them. Runs on WorkflowDog and Automate.ax.

  • Launch funnel

Landing page, lead database, checkout, and instant lead alerts with one-tap call buttons for Talented’s newest offer.

“This is a critical part of our hiring infrastructure now. We wouldn’t be able to process the volume of candidates we do without it.”

Why a CTO

What your CTO takes off your plate

AI made building tools cheap. Keeping them running, secure, and growing still takes someone who owns them, and right now that’s you.

  • Fixing what breaks

We watch every tool and fix failures before they pile up.

  • Cleaning up AI-built tools

We make the tools you built with AI dependable as they grow.

  • Building what’s next

We add the tools and features that give you more leverage.

  • Locking down access

We manage logins, API keys, and who can touch what.

  • Watching your costs

We keep API, proxy, and cloud bills from creeping up.

  • Deciding what to build

We make the calls a CTO would: what to build, buy, or retire.

What are your internal tools built with?

FAQ

Questions before you hand it off

Will I have to change my tools?

No. We keep what works, connect to the tools you already use, and only replace what can’t be made dependable. Anything new we automate runs on our own automation platform, so when you need something it can’t do yet, we add it, instead of working around another company’s limits.

How do you handle security?

Every engagement starts with an access sweep: who can log into what, where your API keys live, and what’s backed up. Credentials for every tool we connect are stored encrypted, each integration gets only the access it needs, and access is removed the day someone leaves.

Can you take over tools built with Claude, Cursor, or ChatGPT?

Yes, that’s most of what we take over now. We read the code, find what only looks like it works, and fix it.

How is this different from hiring a developer?

A developer needs specs, direction, and someone to check the work. We scope the work ourselves and answer for the result, so there’s nobody for you to manage.

What does it cost?

It depends on how many tools you run and how much you want built. We’ll scope it with you on the call and give you a number before anything starts.

Who owns the code?

You do. The code, the accounts, and every login stay in your name, documented so another engineer could pick them up.

How involved do I need to be?

A short weekly check-in and quick answers when we need a decision. We get the details from your team directly.
